Melanie currently works as a Senior Sister and as the Neonatal Bereavement and Palliative Care Lead at East Kent Hospitals NHS University Foundation Trust. Melanie has completed the enhanced practice course and uses skills learnt during this training in other areas of interest including neonatal stabilisation and education. Melanie co-directs the NeoSAVE programme and has successfully rolled out this programme on a national and international level in an attempt to improve staff confidence in the stabilisation of the sick and preterm infant, which she hopes will impact on both infant morbidity and mortality. She has published three articles in nursing journals.
