Biography:
| Dr Kathryn Beardsall is a HEFCE Senior Clinical Lecturer and Consultant Neonatologist at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. She is CI for the REACT Trial, which is an international multicentre Trial exploring the use of real time continuous glucose monitoring in extremely preterm infants. She leads research in the area of the metabolic transition from fetal to independent life and the role of adaptive processes, in the perinatal period on critical programming of later metabolic health. She trained in London and Cambridge and her work involves physiological and interventional studies aiming to improve the care of babies in the neonatal period as well as long term follow up studies investigating the long term impact on neurocognitive and metabolic outcomes of these babies |
